Kate Middleton, Camilla Parker Bowles and Sophie, Countess of Wessex joined forces to reach out to the elderly amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The members of the royal family have continued with their royal duties even while on lockdown, just like the rest of the people in the world. The Duchess of Cambridge, Duchess of Cornwall and Countess of Wessex joined the Royal NHS Volunteer Responders to check with the U.K. residents who are self-isolating amid the pandemic, People reported.

Middleton talked to Donna Williams, 42, who is isolating with her daughter Alessandra, who is suffering from a rare form of Type 1 Diabetes.

Meanwhile, Camilla spoke to Doris Winfield, 85, who is self-isolating in Rickmansworth. According to her, the last couple of months have been “incredibly lonely” for her.

“Having a chat with The Duchess of Cornwall meant the world to me. I’ve been incredibly lonely over the last couple of months and it was wonderful to talk to her,” Winfield said.

“We talked about life in isolation and shared hobbies. She was very interested in my family and how I was coping. It really cheered me up.”

Meanwhile, Sophie chatted with Harry Deboo, 89, from Liverpool. Deboo lost his wife three years ago and recently had a triple by-pass. He was delighted with his conversation with Prince Edward’s wife.

“It was great to chat to The Countess of Wessex and really made my week,” Deboo said.

“I have one son who doesn’t live locally – so I don’t get to see many people – especially now. I also like to keep the memory of my wife alive and it was great to chat about her. She really listened to every word and it was great to share our lockdown experiences together!”

Middleton and Sophie also joined a video call last month to celebrate the International Nurses Day. The two bantered during the call and many were pleased to witness their close bond. In fact, several wanted to see more of the two royals together.

“I love seeing Kate and Sophie,” royal expert Roberta Fiorito said.

“The two of them really have a good kind of banter together and I love them tag-teaming things like this.”
