Not everyone is happy with Kate Middleton's shopping sprees.

Emma Dent Coad, a member of Parliament (MP) who has Kensington in her constituency, reportedly does not approve of the Duchess of Cambridge's lavish spending. Dent Coad is an open critic of the royal family and once called them "ridiculous." She also compared the Middletons to the Kardashians, Mirror reported.

On Monday, the recently elected representative criticized the whole system of the royal family in a pro-republican event. "Their MP thinks the system is ridiculous," Dent Coad said at a Labour conference titled "Reigning in the Monarchy." "We should not be funding them."

In addition, Dent Coad called Middleton's purchases "disgusting," citing one instance when the latter bought clothes worth an estimated £170 ($227) each. She reasoned that the same amount is already "a food bill for a family of four" and that spending so much on outfits is "absolutely outrageous."

Despite their many critics, the royal family has many causes for celebration, one of which is the fact that Prince William and Middleton are currently expecting their third child. Prince William opened up about his pregnant wife and her condition during a reception celebrating the Metropolitan and City Police Orphan's Fund on Wednesday. During the event, he met Iris Orell, 98, and the pair discussed hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition Middleton currently suffers from.

Orell had suffered the same illness that has left the Duchess of Cambridge unable to fulfill her royal engagements and be put on strict bed rest. According to Orell, when her condition worsened, her doctor advised her to take "dry biscuits." On the other hand, Prince William said that his wife tried ginger biscuits as ginger is a popular remedy for morning sickness, but it didn't work for Middleton.

When the Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are expecting royal baby No. 3, they also explained that Middleton would not be able to attend her appointments on the same day as she is suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, which is also known as severe morning sickness. Since then, Middleton has missed a lot of events, including their son Prince George's first day of school.

However, Middleton showed everyone that she is doing well when she appeared in an animation clip for mental health. In the short film, the Duchess of Cambridge appears in the first minute to introduce the animation to the children.

"Hello, mental health is how we feel and think things that can't really be seen but that affect us every day and talking about them can feel difficult," Middleton says in the clip. "A charity called the Anna Freud National Center for Children and Families have made this animation with children just like you."
