Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's exit from the British royal family, royal fans have been watching how Prince William, Kate Middleton, and Queen Elizabeth II will handle the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's decision to move to Canada.

Now, some royal watchers believe that the Duchess of Cambridge subtly conveyed her private feelings about the royal family's future thanks to a specific fashion choice she made at a recent outing.

According to the Daily Mail, Middleton wore a pair of ruby earrings during an appearance with Prince William at the UK-Africa Investment Summit at Buckingham Palace, which marked the Duke of Cambridge's first solo event following Markle and Prince Harry's departure.

However, some believe that the specific earrings, which were made by Soru, have illustrated how the Duchess may feel about the Sussexes' exit due to the particular meaning of the pieces. As stated on the brand's website, the July birthstone is thought to "heighten vitality, clear the mind and increase concentration and motivation," which could indicate what Middleton is focusing on as she moves into this new phase of the royal family.

This would not be the first time that fans have paid close attention to the style choices made by the royals. Prior to the Duchess of Sussex's exit, both she and Middleton opted to strategically wear the same color while on their royal tours of Africa and Pakistan. Additionally, both duchesses also once reportedly tried to appeal to various audiences with a certain style choice and sent unique messages at this year's Remembrance Day events.
