Katie Couric has finally broken her silence on Matt Lauer’s sexual misconduct scandal.

On Friday, the “CBS Evening News” host posted a photo of herself with her daughter, Carrie Couric, from several years ago. One of Couric’s followers threw shade at the host for not saying anything about Lauer’s recent firing and sexual abuse allegations considering they worked together on NBC’s “Today Show” for 15 years.

Couric was surprised by her follower’s comment, but she decided to respond amicably. “It’s incredibly upsetting and I will say something when I’m ready to. Thanks for your interest,” she wrote.

In November, Lauer was fired from his hosting job at NBC after reports about his alleged inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace surfaced. A slew of women have also accused him of sexual abuse and harassment.

Following his firing from “Today Show,” Couric’s 2012 interview on “Watch What Happens Live” with Andy Cohen surfaced. In their discussion, Cohen asked Couric about Lauer’s most annoying habit. The 60-year-old said that her co-host always pinches her butt.

In 2011, Couric also dished on her relationship with her then co-host, Lauer. “Matt and I have undeniable chemistry in the most platonic sense of the word. We are like an old, married couple. We finish each other’s sentences. He is very committed to ‘Today Show,’” she told People.

Meanwhile, Couric isn’t the only “Today Show” host that Lauer harassed sexually. Days after his firing, a video of Lauer uttering lewd comments at Meredith Vieira also surfaced.

The incident happened in 2006 while the show was on a commercial break. Vieira bent over to grab the papers on her table, and Lauer told her, “Pretty sweater. Keep bending over like that. It’s a nice view.”

Lauer was fired from NBC news on Nov. 29. A spokesperson for NBC told Variety (via CNN) thereafter that they have never been made aware of Lauer’s misconducts prior to Monday’s episode of “Today Show.”

“We can say unequivocally, that, prior to Monday night, current NBC News management was never made aware of any complaints about Matt Lauer’s conduct,” the spokesperson said.
