Last week, Prince William and Kate Middleton ended their history-making royal tour of Pakistan. Additionally, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also recently wrapped up their trip to Africa.

Even though there was one "strategic" similarity between the Duchess of Cambridge and the Duchess of Sussex on both visits, there were also striking differences in the ways each couple conducted themselves while visiting the various countries.

According to Express, there was one "key reason" why the royal couples acted so different while on their royal tours. According to a royal insider, the down to earth approach Meghan and Harry took versus the more formal way that William and Kate behaved had to do with their order in line to the throne.

"Obviously William and Kate as the future King and Queen Consort are far more formal than Harry and Meghan," the source revealed, adding that a few "imaginative touches" were able to be made on the Cambridges' trip in order to give parts a lighter feel.

Additionally, the fashion choices made by each woman were also looked at as an indication of how they were attempting to be perceived by the public. "Kate's outfits seemed exquisitely appropriate for each occasion," continued the insider.

In contrast, Meghan was allowed to seemingly have a bit more freedom in her royal style choices, as she even used her clothing to reportedly give a subtle nod to her life outside of the British royal family and broke a certain rule while she was away from Queen Elizabeth II.
