Kim Kardashian, who became one of the celebrities to champion sex trafficking victim Cyntoia Brown’s case has now appointed celebrity lawyer, Shawn Holley to help her campaign, the New York Daily reported. Kardashian also contributed to an online campaign called #FreeCyntoiaBrown.

Holley confirmed the news and spoke to the Blast saying that Kardashian enlisted her help to assist Brown a long while ago. Brown was sentenced to life in prison for shooting and killing a man in 2004. Reports state that the man paid her for sex when she was just 16-years-old. Brown who has been in custody for a few years came into the news again after Fox 17 Nashville published a report on her life on Oct. 16.

The Fox report featured a video from a professor at the University of Southern California's Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, Dan Birman, who not only showcased Brown’s journey but also pushed for her justice. Birman who has been familiar with Brown and her case also made a documentary called, "Me Facing Life: Cyntoia's Story," about her life.

Reports suggest that Brown has achieved an associate degree from Lipscomb University. Reports also state that Brown is currently working on her bachelor’s degree along with working as an unpaid consultant for the Juvenile Justice system.

Her case gained momentum on Nov. 21 again after a picture was shared on a social media site detailing Brown's tormenting life of repeated rape in the sex-trafficking underworld.

As soon as the picture went viral it was posted and shared by several celebrities including Rihanna, T.I. and Kim Kardashian, who attempted to refocus the attention on Brown and how she was served with an unjust sentence.

The social media post read, "Imagine at the age of 16 being sex-trafficked by a pimp named 'cut-throat.' After days of being repeatedly drugged and raped by different men, you were purchased by a 43-year-old child predator who took you to his home to use you for sex. You end up finding enough courage to fight back and shoot and kill him."

It was this heart-wrenching post that made Kardashian join the rallying cry to free the girl. Holley confirmed the news saying she has a conference call scheduled with Brown’s attorney on Friday. Kardashian has also enlisted Holley’s expertise to help a 62-year-old prisoner, Alice Johnson, who is serving 21 years in prison for a first time, non-violent drug offense, as reported by The Blast.

This was also confirmed by Holley. "Kim asked me several weeks ago how she could help Alice Johnson in her fight for justice. We then began corresponding with Alice and her team of lawyers. Since then, Kim has championed the cause of Cyntoia Brown and asked me to help her get involved in that effort as well," Holley told the New York Daily News.
