Kohl’s (KSS) is gearing up to kick off its Black Friday 2020 shopping event with a series of deals and coronavirus safety measures.

As promised, Kohl’s, like many other retailers, will hold a longer Black Friday sales event that will extend beyond the traditional timeframe with additional deals being offered all month long.

Black Friday Preview Sale

To start the promotion, Kohl’s will roll out a Black Friday Preview that it said has more deals and more days to save than last year. The deals will also start earlier than ever – both online and in-stores – giving holiday shopper more options to shop safely during the coronavirus pandemic.

Kohl’s Preview Event starts Friday, Nov. 6, with 100 preview deals available and a 20% discount offered online and in-store. Some exclusions do apply. Customers will also earn $15 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent that will be redeemable starting on Saturday. The Black Friday Preview Event runs through Nov. 10.

Starting on Saturday, customers will see 120 deals that will be refreshed each day, including sales on toys, apparel, and home merchandise.

Kohl’s will also offer big savings from Nov. 11-21 as it counts down to Black Friday week with a slew of deals. The retailer said it is offering new ways to save, including 15% off purchases, deeper savings for Kohl’s cardholders, and $10 Kohl’s Cash for every $50 spent through Nov. 19. Kohl’s Cash earned during this period can be used during Black Friday week.

Black Friday Week

As for the retailer's traditional Black Friday week, which runs from Nov. 22-27, sale items have already been announced in Kohl’s Black Friday ad. Over this six-day period, customers will be able to shop starting at 12:01 a.m. CST online on Nov. 22 and in-stores at 8 a.m. local time all week. Patrons who shop during this period will also get $15 in Kohl’s Cash coupons for every $50 spent.

Even more discounts will be offered from Nov. 26-27 with Kohl’s Super Deals. These deals will start online at 12:01 a.m. CST on Nov. 26 and in-store at 5 a.m. on Nov. 27. The Super Deals include sales on Powerbeats wireless earphones, Google Nest Learning Thermostat, RayBan and Oakley sunglasses, toys and games, jewelry, and more.

In addition, Kohl’s said it will be launching Early Black Friday savings leading up to Black Friday Week and exclusive deals online during Black Friday Week. The discounts, Kohl’s Cash, and additional savings are in addition to the 5% that Kohl’s Rewards members can earn with every purchase.

Kohl’s also said that it will hold a full week of Cyber Deals that start on Nov. 28.

In-Store Safety Measures

While Kohl’s has plenty of deals that it is offering throughout the month of November, it has also implemented a series of coronavirus safety measures at its stores. These include a face mask requirement for all customers and employees, social distancing guidelines throughout its stores, and protective barriers at registers, as well as enhanced cleaning protocols. The company also offers touchless payments.

In preparation for Black Friday, Kohl’s has added stanchions and social distancing markers at store entrances has designated entrances to control traffic flow, will be sanitizing carts, giving out free face masks, and will limit capacity in stores.

Customers also have the option to pick up their online orders curbside at Kohl’s or through its in-store pickup service. The company also offers Amazon returns.

Shares of Kohl's were trading at $22.11 as of 9:57 a.m. EST Friday, up 45 cents or 2.08%.
