Shoko Komi wants to make friends but when she tries to talk, her social anxiety kicks in and words fail to come out of her mouth. "Komi Can't Communicate" Episode 1 introduces the protagonist and her dream to make some new friends.

The official promo trailer of "Komi Can’t Communicate" shows Hitohito Tadano trying to strike a conversation with Komi but she is unable to talk. Tadano admires Komi and makes it his school goal to help Komi make 100 friends.

Also, Tadano seems to have hots for Komi who is incredibly beautiful. But Tadano feels he is not good enough for her.

"Socially anxious high school student Shoko Komi's greatest dream is to make some friends, but everyone at school mistakes her crippling social anxiety for cool reserve. With the whole student body keeping its distance and Komi unable to utter a single word, friendship might be forever beyond her reach," read the official manga synopsis, according to Viz.

"Komi Can't Communicate" anime is based on the manga of the same name by Tomohito Oda. The chief director of the series is Ayumu Watanabe and Kazuki Kawagoe is the director. Yukari Hashimoto has composed the music while Jun Watanabe is taking care of the sound. The anime is produced at OLM.

The cast "Komi Can't Communicate" anime includes Aoi Koga as Shoko Komi, Gakuto Kajiwara as Hitohito Tadano, Rie Murakawa as Najimi Osana, Noriko Hidaka as narrator, Yurika Moriyama as Kaede Otori, Yukiyo Fujii as Himiko Agari, Yuga Sato as Taisei Sonoda, Sarah Emi Bridcutt as Akako Onigashima, Ruriko Aoki as Nene Onemine, Rumi Okubo as Omoharu Nakanaka, Rina Hidaka as Ren Yamai, Mitsuaki Hoshino as Masayoshi Komi, Megumi Han as Nokoko Inaka, Maaya Uchida as Tadano Hitomi, Kikuko Inoue as Shūko Komi, Kensho Ono as Mono Shinobimono, Kenji Akabane as Shigeo Chiarai, Junya Enoki as Shousuke Komi and Ami Maeshima as Makeru Yadano.

Viewers in Japan can watch "Komi Can't Communicate" Episode 1 on Netflix Japan and TV Tokyo this Thursday. Fans outside Japan will be able to watch the episodes from Oct. 21 on Netflix.
