  • Konami has silently released the mobile version of the PlayStation classic "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night"
  • The game will feature six languages, external controls support, touchscreen controls up front and a “new continue feature”
  • "Castlevania: Symphony of the Night" is available on the iOS and Android for $2.99

Those who grew up playing sleepless nights on their PlayStation will be quite happy to know that one of their cult-classic favorites is now on mobile.

Without much fanfare and literally putting things in silent mode, Konami recently released “Castlevania: Symphony of the Night” on the iOS and Android platforms. The game costs $2.99 and is reminiscent of the PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PlayStation 4 version rather than that of the original console.

To put things in tune, “Castlevania: Symphony of the Night” will feature six languages, external controls support, touchscreen controls up front and a “new continue feature” which IGN thinks that players won't have to go back to the title screen when they die somewhere in the game's side-scrolling level.

“Castlevania: Symphony of the Night” is the brainchild of acclaimed writer and programmer Koji Igarashi. According to The Verge, the game switched the series' focus on being an all-out action themed title to a more “Metroid”-esque “exploration and adventure.” By this, “Symphony of the Night” has spawned several games that adopted the same style, including “Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night” which was announced last year.

There's no telling why Konami has decided to keep things quite with the surprise, but Engadget said that the announcement may come along the spectrum that Netflix is also set to launch season three of its anime adaptation on May 5th.
