Tuesday’s Season 7 premiere of Hallmark Channel’s “Home and Family” marked not only the official start of Cameron Mathison’s co-hosting duties but also the return of beauty and lifestyle expert Kym Douglas.

She departed the talk show at the end of May after being diagnosed with breast cancer and undergoing surgery. Douglas opened up about her diagnosis in a May episode of “Home and Family.” In the months since, she’s been recovering from the operation while receiving chemotherapy treatments. Friday was her first day back to work on the Hallmark show, which she said on Facebook made her “realize how fortunate I am to have a job to come back to after my treatment [because] not everyone gets that.”

Fans got to see the work she did Friday when the episode aired Tuesday. She jumped right back into things, giving viewers some tips on how to amp up their natural beauty routine without having to spend all of their money. To let people know that she would be returning in the Season 7 premiere, Douglas shared some photos on Instagram on Monday, along with a caption about her recent experiences.

“Getting back to work for the first time since my surgery and chemo was literally like medicine in my veins,” Douglas wrote. “On this #LaborDay Holiday, I realize how much my work fills me up and the joy it brings to my life. I hope you will tune in tmrw @homeandfamilytv to join the fun and laughter and most importantly I hope our work brings a little bit of joy to YOU! That’s what my job is ALL about.”

“I just love seeing @kymdouglas on @HomeandFamilyTV,” one Twitter user wrote. “She always brightens up my day with just her giggles and sweetness!! Welcome back!!”

Another user tweeted directly to Douglas: “I watched the show today. I was so happy to see you back! Welcome Back!”

Douglas also received many words of encouragement during her time away from the show, which, she said on Instagram Friday, helped her a lot during this experience. “Thankful and Grateful are understatements as to how I feel being back at work @homeandfamilytv,” she wrote. “The prayers, notes, cards and texts I received from all who watch, were immensely important to my recovery and healing.”
