Lady Gaga's massive success in her music and acting career may come with a price, and her relationship with Christian Carino may be the latest victim.

On Tuesday, reports surfaced that Gaga had called off her engagement with Carino, shocking all of her fans who saw the two being loving and affectionate all throughout this year's awards circuit. But the "A Star Is Born" actress may have once confessed the reason why she has a hard time balancing success and romance.

In her 2017 Netflix documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two," the singer-actress opened up about how every time she achieves another milestone, she also loses someone she loves.

“It’s a sad day when I’m doing the Super Bowl and I’m so excited to do it, but I can’t help but realize that when I sold 10 million records, I lost Matt [Williams]. I sold 30 million, I lose Luc [Carl]. I get the movie [A Star Is Born], I lose Taylor [Kinney],” she confessed. “It’s like a turnover.”

Gaga was in a relationship with creative director Williams for two years, between 2008 to 2010. Later in 2010, the singer briefly reunited with ex-boyfriend Carl. She then started dating Kinney in 2011 and even got engaged with the actor on Valentine's Day in 2015. However, they called off their engagement in July 2016.

In November 2017, reports surfaced that Gaga and Carino secretly got engaged nearly nine months after they started dating. She only confirmed the news in October last year.

Rumors of Gaga and Carino breaking up initially surfaced on Feb. 10, after the singer was spotted without her fiancé and her bright pink engagement ring at the Grammy Awards. Carino had been Gaga's date for most of the awards circuit this year, including the 2019 Golden Globes, Critics Choice Awards and Screen Actors Guild Awards, so fans began speculating that something may have happened when he wasn't with the singer at the Grammys.

Further fueling the split rumors was Gaga sharing a post about her new tattoo instead of her fiancé on Valentine's Day.

Carino has yet to address their split on social media.
