Decomposed bodies of a mother dog and her puppies were found inside a plastic bag that was abandoned at a park in Las Vegas.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police on Friday responded to the Desert Breeze Park in Spring Valley, Nevada, after they received a report about a dog and puppies found dead. The officers found a mother dog and several puppies lying dead inside a plastic bag.

According to a witness, the dogs likely died due to suffocation. The man, who wanted to be identified just as “Joe” fearing any kind of retaliation from the people responsible for the gruesome crime, told local media, “There was a mother dog and a few puppies in there that someone had tied up, and looks like they may have suffocated them.”

He said he was at the park walking his pet dog. When he let the dog off the leash, it immediately ran toward something. The dog stopped near a plastic bag that was surrounded by a foul smell and pool of blood.

Joe found the decomposed bodies and immediately reported it to the police.

“Police were saying that the bag had been there for probably a few days because of the decomposing of the animals,” Joe said.

The man requested the public not to repeat such merciless acts.

“Drop the dogs off at a shelter, or even the fire department, police department, instead of wrapping them in a plastic bag and dumping them in the desert," Joe said.

The Las Vegas police launched an investigation.

Gina Greisen, an animal advocate and a member of a non-profit organization called the Nevada Voters for Animals, said, "To hear that anybody would hurt an animal, or even dump an animal in this way, it’s just heartbreaking.”

“I hope they get to the bottom of it, I hope tips come in as to who did this,” Greisen added.

In a similar act of cruelty against dogs, a Florida man brutally killed his pet dog by chaining it to a golf cart and dragging the animal miles through the hot roads.
