KEY POINTS

  • Dr. Mundo retains his role as a tanky frontline melee fighter
  • He excels at soaking damage while chasing enemy carries in team fights
  • The champion's early game potential is relatively weak

The visual and gameplay update for Dr. Mundo is now live in “Wild Rift” and it has completely changed how some of the champion’s abilities are used. Thankfully, Dr. Mundo’s identity as a meaty frontline bruiser remains unchanged, so players won’t have much difficulty figuring out how he works again.

Dr. Mundo is still great as a solo Baron laner or even as a jungler. His new abilities have given him a clearer direction in terms of how he’s meant to be played without detracting from his overall simplicity.

Here’s a quick guide on how to play reworked Dr. Mundo as well as some of his best builds and rune setups for “Wild Rift.”

Dr. Mundo Gameplay Tips

Dr. Mundo excels at disrupting the enemy team by diving straight into squishy backliners while taking all of the damage on his team’s behalf. He benefits greatly from HP items as they increase his own damage while also bumping his survivability.

When laning, focus on clearing minions and poking out the enemy with Infected Cleaver and the new Blunt Force Trauma ability, which grants increased basic attack damage for Dr. Mundo’s next attack while launching back anything that it kills, damaging all opponents in the way.

In team fights, use Maximum Dosage as soon as HP drops below 50% then pop Heart Zapper for extra damage and healing. Try to stick to enemy carries as much as possible to give teammates some breathing room.
