Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) is Legion of Doom’s newest pawn.

The trailer for Season 2, episode 11 of “Legends of Tomorrow” reveals that Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher), Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) and Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) are using the ex-time master to change the past.

“Rip’s brain was scrambled by the Legion,” Jax Jefferson (Franz Drameh) tells Nate Heywood (Nick Zano) and Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) in the preview clip.

In last night’s episode of the CW series, the Legion of Doom retrieved a mnemonic archive that contains Rip’s memories. But before uploading those memories back to the former leader of the Legends, Eobard did some tweaking on them, and that’s probably the reason why Rip now does everything the Legion instructs him to do.

As seen in trailer, Rip appears to shoot George Washington in an attempt to alter the outcome of the American Revolutionary War.

The American Revolutionary War, in which Washington served as the commander-in-chief of the continental army, was an armed conflict between Great Britain and 13 of its North American colonies. The war, which lasted from 1775 to 1783, mainly had its origins in the resistance of several Americans to particular taxes and Parliamentary acts, which they claimed were unjust and illegal. The North American colonies won the war, with Great Britain recognizing the independence of the colonies, which were later called the United States of America.

According to the synopsis for the episode, the Legends follow the Legion of Doom to the winter of 1776 to preserve the result of the American Revolutionary War. Things, however, don’t go as planned, leaving Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) with no choice but to send out Nate and Amaya to help. Meanwhile, Jax and Dr. Martin Stein (Victor Garber) — who are busy protecting the incapacitated Waverider from their new opponent — are forced to step into roles that they don’t think they are prepared for.

“Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2, episode 11, titled “Turncoat,” airs on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 9 p.m. EST on The CW.
