Murtaugh tries to make an unexpected update in his will in tonight’s episode of “Lethal Weapon.”

In a sneak peek from Season 2, episode 5 of the Fox series, Trish (Keesha Sharp) finds out that Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) hasn’t finalized his will yet.

“Honey, please tell me you’re not still working on that will,” Trish says.

“I’m still tinkering with a few items,” Murtaugh reveals. “I gotta get it right.”

When Trish tells him to just divide his earnings and properties by three, the father of three says: “It’s more complicated than that. It’s about ensuring my legacy.”

Surprisingly, in another sneak peek from the episode, Murtaugh casually reveals to Avery (Kevin Rahm) that he’s trying to convince Riggs (Clayne Crawford) to be in his will. “Riggs keeps refusing to be in my will. It’s infuriating,” Murtaugh says. While it’s unclear why Murtaugh wants to add his partner in his will, the police detective definitely has a reasonable explanation behind it.

Elsewhere in the episode, Riggs tries to come to terms with his past. In another sneak peek from the episode, Cahill (Jordana Brewster) finds out that Riggs moved around quite a bit as a kid; first with his dad and then by himself. Cahill pushes Riggs to open up more about his childhood, but the troubled cop clearly has no interest in talking about it.

When Riggs tells Cahill that researching about his past is not part of her job, the therapist answers: “My job is to help you do yours.”

Also in the episode, according to the synopsis for the hour, Murtaugh and Riggs investigate a death that occurs moments before the victim’s bet wins a horse race. Returning character Leo Getz (Thomas Lennon) insists that it’s a homicide and aids in the investigation.

In the trailer for the episode, Riggs and Murtaugh visit a tattoo shop where a suspect in the presumed killing works. But as soon as the partners enter the shop and declare that they are looking for a loan shark, extortionist, cobbler and arms dealer, the men inside attack them. The two manage to take the men down, and Leo — who appears to have secretly entered the shop — also finds a way to save himself from one of the bad guys who tries to strangle him.

Just when Leo believes that he has killed the man who attacked him, Riggs jokes, “I hope you know a good lawyer.”

“Lethal Weapon” Season 2, episode 5, titled “Let It Ride,” airs tonight at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox. Watch the sneak peeks from the episode below:
