In the midst of the presidential candidate debate on Thursday evening between President Trump and Joe Biden, a Twitter user had an idea that sparked some consideration.

While the debate was hosted by Kristen Welker, NBC News’ White House correspondent and “Weekend Today” co-anchor, one Twitter user thought that former “Live PD” host and ABC News chief legal affairs anchor Dan Abrams should have hosted the debate, and social media seemed to agree.

One Twitter user echoed the poster’s comment, saying, “That would be amazing!! Dan is awesome. The smartest legal analyst on tv.”

Yet another Twitter user said, “I believe He would be perfect and fair.”

Another Twitter user thought they had a better idea, saying that Abrams should take a run at being president himself.

Abrams was quick to respond to the post, jokingly saying that “Yeah I was asked to do it and turned it down. Well, uhh actually not really.”

Abrams previously was the host of “Live PD” on A&E, which was canceled in June amid protests against the police. At the time, A&E told Variety in a statement that “This is a critical time in our nation’s history and we have made the decision to cease production on “Live PD.” Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments.”

Abrams has been an active supporter of bring “Live PD” back saying on Twitter, that he is continuing to “advocate for its return.” There was no word of when the show will be revived.
