Two Liverpool band members died this week while heading from Phoenix, Arizona, to a show in Santa Ana, California.

Stephen Fitzpatrick, 24, and Audun Laading, 25, were killed in a car crash early Wednesday along with two other people, including their tour manager, reports the New York Post.

A spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety said it was investigating the crash but could not confirm the identity of four people killed because “almost all evidence” was lost in the fire.

“It is with overwhelming sadness that we regretfully inform you that Liverpool band Her’s, Stephen Fitzpatrick and Audun Laading and their tour manager Trevor Engelbrektson tragically passed away in a road accident in the early hours of Wednesday, 27th March whilst travelling to a show in Santa Ana, California,” their label Heist or Hit said in a statement. “We are all heartbroken.”

Online, fans commented on the news. Liverpool music promoter Craig MacDonald, for example, tweeted, “I’m in utter shock and disbelief. The world is a cruel place sometimes."
