Man Kills And Dismembers 73-Year-Old Homeless Woman For Resisting Rape

In a shocking incident, a 73-year-old homeless woman was murdered and dismembered by a man after trying to resist rape.

The incident happened in the Indian state of Telangana Sunday, The New Indian Express reported. Police arrested 53-year-old Aderla Upender Tuesday in connection with the murder.

According to reports, the victim, Azmeera Nazi, used to earn her daily bread by begging door-to-door. The suspect, who had been noticing her for some days, invited her home on the pretext of offering food.

Once she entered the man's home, he tried to rape her. The woman resisted his sexual advances and raised an alarm. An enraged Upender killed her before decapitating her. He cut the limbs off her body, took them to a nearby forest area and burnt them along with her head. He then packed the trunk in a bag as he planned to dump it on the railway track.

He sought the help of a friend for the same. When his friend enquired what was inside the bag, Upender said it was a wild boar. However, the friend, who was suspicious of Upender's words, opened the bag, only to find the mutilated body part of the woman. He panicked and immediately alerted the police about the incident.

The police recovered the torso and launched an investigation. Upender reportedly confessed to the crime upon his arrest. He told the officers that he mutilated the body to hide the murder.

The victim's body parts were taken to the hospital for an autopsy and detailed examination.

However, the local people alleged the old woman was murdered as part of occult practice. They said several others were involved in the crime. Following the outrage, senior police officers inspected the crime scene.

Azmeera's sons have also approached the police seeking a detailed investigation.

In a similar incident, a 30-year-old man was arrested last month for brutally murdering a 4-year-old girl when she resisted a rape attempt. The man slashed her throat before stuffing her body in a plastic sack. Police later recovered the body inside a narrow shaft attached to the toilet of his flat. On learning about the incident, the child's father committed suicide.
