For the second time in six weeks, a person has been shot while at a New York City subway station. On Friday afternoon, a 21-year-old man was shot in Queens and taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.

The incident occurred at 75th Avenue off Queens Boulevard in Forest Hills. According to police, the victim got into an argument with two men on a northbound F train. When their argument continued on the platform, one of men reportedly pulled out a gun, according to the New York Post. The unidentified man was then shot in the leg. Two males fled the scene after the incident.

The shooting caused temporary changes on the F line. NYPD Transit shared an update about the situation on Friday afternoon, tweeting, “Avoid the 75th Ave station in Queens on the E/F line as we investigate reports of an assault.”

The NYCT Subway Twitter account urged customers traveling to and from 75 Ave. to consider using nearby Q60 bus service on Queens Blvd. One tweet read: “Update: F trains are bypassing 75 Av in both directions while NYPD conducts an investigation at that station. Please see a station agent to receive a courtesy pass for continuing bus or subway service.”

Just last month, also in Queens, a man was shot to death on a subway platform in a gang-related shooting.
