A 34-year-old man from Brazil walked between two hot air balloons at 6,100 feet, shattering a world record. Rafael Zugno Bridi walked barefoot on the narrow inch-wide slackline surrounded bya sea of clouds over Praia Grande in Sao Paulo, Brazil, breaking the record of the highest ever tightrope walk, News 18 reported.

Describing himself as a person "driven by challenges," Bridi said he decided to walk across two hot air balloons so that he could "experience the sensation of freedom and floating."

"I like complex projects, which involve many people and as a consequence incalculable elements like weather and weather conditions," he said, India Times reported.

The 34-year-old added that he knew even a minor mistake could cost him his life.

"I like records that are hard to beat. A small mistake could have caused a catastrophe. My attention is fully focused on ensuring that all procedures are followed in detail. So everyone is calm and confident and after this successful stage comes to the indescribable pleasure and contemplation of walking on clouds hundreds of meters high," he added.

Bridi went on to say that achieving the feat involved several years of dedication to the sport and safety. "I don't give up anything on safety. I always have the best equipment, the best team and the most up-to-date knowledge. It was a total serendipity moment where everything lined up amazingly," he said, India Times reported.

Rafael was so focused on the stunt that he had no idea what was going through his head as he made his way through the sky.

"It's amazing and shows how present I was at that moment. But I remember seeing my friends smile after I made the crossing without falling and I remember their nervous face the moment I sat on the slackline outside the balloon for the first time. I have a bank of projects that I grow to carry out during my career as a professional athlete and this was one of them," he said.
