A man who donned a fake bomb and stabbed at least three people in Streatham, London Sunday was shot to death by police. Cops positively identified the attacker as a terrorism suspect who was released around a week ago from prison halfway through serving his three years and four months long sentence.

Sudesh Amman, 20, had been convicted for publishing graphic terrorism-related videos online combined with instructions on bomb-making and knife attacks, Associated Press reported, citing Lucy D’Orsi, Deputy Assistant Commissioner in the Metropolitan Police Service.

He was shot dead outside a pharmacy in the said South London neighborhood at around 9:00 a.m. EST (2:00 p.m. local time).

One victim who was taken to the hospital in life-threatening condition has now improved. The second victim who was rendered first-aid in the scene and later hospitalized was released while the third victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Amman had been under active police surveillance at the time of the attack, according to BBC.

Detectives from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command were executing search warrants at two residences in south London and Bishop's Stortford areas but no arrests have been made so far.

“Thank you to all emergency services responding to the incident in Streatham, which the police have now declared as terrorism-related. My thoughts are with the injured and all those affected,” Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Twitter.

He said the government had introduced a slew of measures, including longer prison sentences and better monetary rewards for the police to crack down on terrorism, following the Fishmonger’s Hall attack in November.

“Tomorrow, we will announce further plans for fundamental changes to the system for dealing with those convicted of terrorism offences,” according to an official statement.
