“The Mandalorian” is one of the most highly anticipated TV shows this year. The producers are yet to release a trailer online, but the fans already have an idea what to expect. Bryce Dallas Howard, who was one of the directors, shared some details about the series in a recent interview that should add to the excitement.

There are five confirmed directors of the first “Star Wars” live action TV series. In a recent interview with Screen Rant, Howard explained how the directors were given all the freedom they needed to put their individual stamp on the episode(s) they directed, which is unusual for a project of this scale.

When Howard was first hired to direct an episode for the show she thought she would have everything laid out for her, and all she had to do was follow the directions and add use her skill in the narrow band of latitude they would give to use her creativity. However, she was shocked to find out that executive producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni gave the directors all the freedom they needed, and didn’t want them to work like a “soldier.”

Howard was so “shocked” about the freedom she got for “The Mandalorian” that she even shared it her father, who too was apparently surprised by it. The fans are yet to see a glimpse of how that freedom affected the show because the trailer is yet to be released online.

The first trailer of the TV series was released at the Star Wars Celebrations event in Chicago, but that video was not released online. The official trailer release with new footage is expected at the upcoming D23 event, CBR reported.

“The Mandalorian” is currently in the post-production phase of development. Favreau previously teased that they were adding music. The show is expected to be released in November on the Disney+ streaming service.
