Although the latest jackpot has gone unclaimed, there were a few players who became instant millionaires following the latest drawing.

A player from Minnesota and two players from New Jersey hit the Match 5 and won $1 million each. If the players would have matched five numbers with a Megaplier purchase, they would have won a $2 million prize.

Along with the instant millionaires, there were several players that managed to win smaller monetary prizes. Thirty-two players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball putting their winnings at $10,000 for the night.

Meanwhile, 10 players hit the Match 4 plus the gold Mega Ball with the 2X Megaplier purchase, winning $20,000. The other Mega Millions wins from the evening ranged between $2 and $1,000.

The next Mega Millions drawing will be worth an estimated $347 million with a cash option of $239.4 million. The numbers will be drawn on Tuesday, Jan. 18.

The latest drawing comes after a player from Tennesee purchased a ticket for the Tuesday night drawing and won $2 million. The ticket was purchased at Ian’s Market in Dandridge.

The player matched five numbers, which results in a $1 million prize, but since the individual purchased the 2X Megaplier, their win was doubled to $2 million.

Lottery winners can receive their winnings through a one-time lump sum payment or an annuity. Those who choose the annuity receive one immediate payment that is followed by 29 annual payments that increase by 5% every year.

Mega Millions can be played in 45 states as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia.
