Meghan Markle did not give up anything for Prince Harry, royal fans claimed.

Prince Harry’s polo friend Nacho Figueras has defended the couple from their critics. The Argentinian star said that the former “Suits” actress “gave up everything she had to marry the man she loves.“

However, royal fans didn’t agree with him. According to them, Markle did not give up anything because prior to marrying the duke, she was just a “Z list actress” and was not popular. Another said that the duchess was just an “ok actress.” A different user said that Markle did not have a career or family.

“This a joke...right? She gave up nothing, marrying has enabled her embark on her social climbing to a greater extent, a lifelong ambition so it would seem,” an online user commented.

“She didn’t really have much to give up, certainly not a family or a career,” one netizen wrote.

Meanwhile, another netizen defended Markle. Denise Sevier-Fried said that maybe Markle did not have as much as Prince Harry, but she had “freedom and privacy” and giving up those things are “extreme.” Another said that when a woman gets married she gives up a lot including her surname, religion and friends.

“I do feel a bit sorry for Harry, he’s gone from being everyone’s favourite member of the royal family to the other end of the scale. No prizes for guessing why! Actually I don’t feel sorry at all,” another user added.

In related news, Prince Harry and Markle are accused of working against Prince William and Kate Middleton after they upset the media ahead of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Pakistan tour. The netizen was referring to the royal couple’s surprising move of filing lawsuits against the British tabloids which many deemed as a declaration of war against the press.

Prince Harry and Markle are set to attend the annual WellChild Awards at The Royal Lancaster Hotel on Oct. 15. Netizens urged the press to not show up because the couple would only use the event as a photo opportunity. One said that the media should boycott the royal couple.
