  • However, his engagement was overshadowed by Prince Harry and  Meghan Markle
  • Prince Andrew's appearance took place during the royal couple's final engagement

Prince Andrew’s surprise appearance at a memorial service was reportedly buried by all of the headlines surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

On “True Royalty TV,” royal commentators Omid Scobie and Daisy McAndrew talked about the Duke of York’s appearance and said that its timing was no coincidence.

“We have seen Andrew popping up which has been fascinating. For the first time in a long time, he has done an official royal visit. It was a memorial service of Sir Malcolm Ross I think was his name. It actually happened at the exact time all eyes were watching the Commonwealth service were, of course, we had Harry, Meghan, William, Kate, and the Queen. But not Andrew which people were expecting him not to be there,” McAndrew said.

“They weren’t expecting him to be going on a royal visit to this memorial service. Many people in his circle have been saying this was no coincidence,” she said.

Scobie agreed that Prince Andrew’s surprise appearance was buried by Prince Harry and Markle and all of the headlines about them during their final royal engagements.

Prince Andrew announced that he was stepping back from his royal duties months ago after he was accused of sexually abusing underage girls. Prince Andrew denied the allegations but the majority of his critics are convinced that he’s guilty because of his association with the late Jeffrey Epstein.

Weeks later, Prince Harry and Markle announced their decision to step back from their royal duties. Initially, the royal couple wanted to keep their royal titles and still perform some royal duties on behalf of Queen Elizabeth. However, the monarch decided that they would no longer be allowed to do so.

Prince Harry and Markle then announced that they will be quitting the royal family for good. And their exit will become official on March 31. Prior to this, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex returned to London for a series of engagements.
