Despite reports claiming Meghan Markle and Prince Harry offended their neighbors at Windsor with a strict set of rules, it seems the couple was clueless about the demands given to residents.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly made extensive renovations since moving to Frogmore Cottage including upgrades that would protect their privacy. However, families near Meghan and Harry’s home received a list of dos and don’ts of how to behave in front of the couple.

After residents took offense to the demands they were expected to follow, Buckingham Palace issued a statement slamming Prince Harry and Meghan’s involvement in the distribution of the demanding rules.

“The Duke and Duchess didn’t request this, didn’t know about it, and had nothing to do with the content or guidance offered,” a spokesperson for the Palace told Us Weekly on Sunday.

Before the statement was released, The Sun shared details of the alleged list Meghan and Harry wanted locals to follow.

“Don’t approach or instigate conversation if you see the Royal couple. Do say, ‘Good Morning’ or some other pleasantry if they speak to you,” the list of rules read.

The rules went on to warn locals about getting close to Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor or the family’s pets.

“Don’t pet or stroke their dogs, even if they come over to you. Don’t offer to walk their dogs. Don’t ask to see baby Archie or offer to babysit. Don’t post anything through the letterbox of Frogmore Cottage,” the list continued.

Lately, Meghan and Prince Harry have been under fire over decisions made about baby Archie’s birth and Meghan’s behavior at Wimbledon. Although the couple, has gone to great lengths to protect their privacy, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not trying to control their neighbors.
