Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have successfully redeemed their reputation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were criticized for keeping their son Archie from the public. They also received an intense backlash after taking four private flights in 11 days.

According to royal biographer Penny Junor, things were not the same for Prince Harry and Markle because they have disappointed their fans. She added that “things have gone really wrong for them.”

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were able to turn things around this time with their trip to Africa. Royal correspondent Charlotte Wace of The Mail on Sunday wrote that there are already signs showing that the royal couple has turned things around after a year-long storm of negative headlines. Sources say that Prince Harry and Markle are at last “really listening.”

“It’s pretty obvious to everyone that there can be no ifs, no buts, it has to go well for them. All Royal tours are traditionally fantastic opportunities to generate positive publicity, but this one really matter,” an insider said.

Markle reportedly suggested to take on more engagements in South Africa while Prince Harry travelled to other countries. The duchess was advised that her engagements be kept private to avoid overshadowing her husband. The insider added that Markle uncharacteristically accepted the advice without complaint.

Prince Harry and Markle’s success could also be due to Archie and their formidable new personal assistant and a press officer poached from the Cambridges. Prince Harry and Markle’s new team of aides orchestrated “magic” moments that worked well for the Sussexes including an adorable photo opportunity with baby Archie dancing, hugging and laughing. This also included Prince Harry retracing Princess Diana’s footsteps in a minefield in Angola.

The people immediately fell in love with baby Archie. In fact, a day after the royal baby made appearance, his photos with Markle made it into the tabloid cover. However, Prince Harry was not included in the pictures which made some netizens wondered where the duke was.
