The new book about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is very detailed and interesting, but it is also damaging to the royals, according to royal expert Katie Nicholl.

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have already released excerpts from their upcoming book "Finding Freedom" that aims to show the real image of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who are often misinterpreted by the press.

Nicholl, who is also the author of best-selling books "William and Harry" thinks that the new tell-all presented new insights into the royal couple.

"I think it's fair to say this is no Andrew Morton's ‘Diana.’ However, the level of detail in this book is quite remarkable. What the authors have managed to do is get a level of detail which is unprecedented," Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight.

"We get some really remarkable details about those first dates. Just the level of detail, that, for me, has been most impressive," she added.

Nicholl said it's the first time for royal fans to hear the story from Prince Harry and Markle's perspective. Due to this, she found the book compelling. However, she also felt that it is "damaging" at the same time.

"This has made the book compelling and fascinating, but for the royal family, this book has been damaging because it has opened up old wounds," Nicholl continued.

"I think what's very clear is that Meghan and Harry have wanted to get their side of the story across. This is clearly a couple who feel quite aggrieved by the fact that they've never been able to answer their critics. They have never been able to address incorrect reporting.”

Nicholl believes that the new book can be used to clear some rumors spread by the British tabloid over the years. It's the royal couple's way to speak on their behalf through the voices of their friends, confidants and the people they trust.

Meanwhile, the book also revealed that both Prince Harry and Markle were warned by the people close to them when they started dating. The duchess' friends warned her against going out with the royal prince due to the British press.

"They hate royal wives and girlfriends. They will come after you," Markle's friend was quoted as saying.

On the other hand, Prince William advised Prince Harry to take his time and slow down things with Markle. The future king allegedly didn't want his brother to be "blinded by lust," but Prince Harry didn't take the advice well.
