  • Meghan Markle is said to be 'obsessed' with Princess Diana
  • Prince Harry's wife, reportedly, retained David Sherborne to represent her in a copyright case against The Mail On Sunday
  • Meghan Markle was also accused of copying Princess Diana's style

Meghan Markle, aside from Kate Middleton, has been the talk of the town since she, officially, became part of the royal family. The former “Suits” actress was first linked to Prince Harry in 2016 after they were, reportedly, seen together in London. After two years of dating, Meghan and Harry announced an engagement in Nov. 2017, tied the knot on May 29, 2018, and welcomed their first child together in May 2019.

Being, technically, an outsider to the royal family, Meghan has always been compared to Kate and Prince Harry’s mom, Princess Diana. All these three women have created noise since they first sparked romance rumors to their respective partners. Woman’s Day Australia, in its May 11, 2020 issue, suggested that the Duchess of Sussex is so obsessed with the late Princess of Wales that she is planning to replicate one of Diana’s boldest move: writing a memoir.

The entertainment news outlet shared that Meghan Markle has been working with royal correspondent Omid Scobie on a book that is slated for an August 2020 release. To recall, Princess Diana collaborated with royal journalist Andrew Morton to write her biography in early 1990, which stunned the palace and affected many of her relationships.

“Releasing her memoirs was one of the worst things Diana ever did to the monarchy, in their eyes, and Meghan knew it – I’m surprised Harry is allowing this, much less going along with it,” an unnamed source told the outlet. “Meghan won’t be stopped, though. She had Morton’s book on her own shelf growing up and must be relishing a chance to tell her own story in a similar way,” it went on.

Another insider even claimed that Meghan Markle’s obsession with Princess Diana has, allegedly, reached a new level after she retained David Sherborne, who is the former legal counsel of Prince Charles’ former wife, to represent her in a copyright case against The Mail On Sunday. The tipster even stated that Meghan “thinks of herself as Diana 2.0.”

In February, netizens accused the mother of Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor of copying Princess Diana after attending an event in the United States. Eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice that Meghan Markle donned an almost-similar ensemble with the late princess, per Daily Express. The Duchess of Sussex, at the time, sported a Misha Nonoo shirt topped with a Cuyana “Wool Yak” cardigan and a pair of Outland jeans. She completed her look with a Kit and Ace cashmere knit turtleneck sweater.

Meanwhile, New Idea Magazine, previously, claimed members of the royal family are worried that Meghan and Prince Harry would use their forthcoming "tell-all" biography to take revenge. Royal expert Phil Dampier even suggested that the Sussex couple could shade Kate Middleton and Prince William in the imminent “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family in Britain and the Commonwealth” book.

Meghan Markle has yet to comment on these allegations.
