With all of the news surrounding Meghan Markle’s life as a Duchess, it’s easy to forget that before she was a member of the British royal family, she was once an actress. Two years after last appearing in her former show "Suits," Markle will now lead a film for Disney.

Markle is not the only celebrity lending her talents to the studio, however. The Duchess of Sussex and Oscar-winning actress Natalie Portman are both voicing new Disneynature documentaries. “Elephant” and “Dolphin Reef,” which released Friday, just in time for Earth Day on April 22, are now both available to stream on Disney+, according to People.

Markle narrates the story of “Elephant,” which follows the tale of a mother elephant and her son as they embark on a treacherous journey through the Kalahari Desert. Portman, meanwhile, narrates “Dolphin Reef,” which is about a young Pacific bottlenose dolphin named Echo who is ready to explore the ocean.

As previously mentioned, the narration marks Markle’s first time acting since ending her recurring role as Rachel Zane in USA Network’s “Suits” in 2018.

Markle’s professional acting career began in 2002 playing a small role as a nurse on “General Hospital.” From there, her career took off landing her a variety of appearances on TV shows and movies until her breakout role on “Suits” in 2011, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Beyond acting, Markle seems to have had a consistent passion for advocacy work her entire life. “Elephant” combines the best of both worlds, allowing Markle to lend her voice while also benefitting Elephants Without Borders, a charitable organization dedicated to conserving Africa’s wildlife. The organization is one close to Markle’s heart, as she and husband Prince Harry both traveled there in 2017 to assist in the conservation effort, People reported. Markle was then asked last summer by filmmakers Mark and Vanessa Berlowitz if she’d be interested in voicing the narration.

The release of “Elephants” follows Markle and Prince Harry’s decision to step down as senior working royals, which went into effect on Tuesday.
