The Meizu Note 9 is looming as a sensible mobile phone to consider, headlined by a powerful 48 MP main camera. Meizu is a mobile phone brand that may not ring a bell, but it does have its share of decent smartphones in the market. The only problem is that most of the ones they have offered have yet to be a hit. With the Meizu Note 9, the Chinese OEM hopes to finally make a splash.

At first glance, there is no denying that the Meizu Note 9 looks fairly similar to the Samsung Galaxy Note 9. However, that depends on how close one looks since there are also notable differences between the two devices.

On paper, the Meizu Note 9 is not supposed to be in the lineage of premium handsets, but its overall aesthetics throw some consumers off-guard. This time around, the company hopes to avoid the same failure and mistakes it made with the Meizu Zero and the Meizu Pro 7, Slash Gear reported. And it looks like that it will all boil down to the specs.

On the outside, the Meizu Note 9 sports a 6.2-inch FHD+ display surrounded by thin bezels. It comes with a familiar tiny waterdrop notch at the top where a 20MP front-facing camera is included. A look at the rear portion shows two cameras, one of which is an incredible 48MP main shooter. Obviously, this is one of the features that should draw in customers. The other camera is a 5 MP snapper, GSM Arena reported.

With a world now fascinated by phones and the megapixel count that a phone carries, all that is futile if the internal specs are not up to par. The Meizu Note 9 banks on a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core 675 SoC backed by either 4GB or 6GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, respectively. Seeing that this device does not come with provisions for expandable storage, getting the 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM variant is ideal.

Other noteworthy features of the Meizu Note 9 include a 4,000mAh battery and Android 9 Pie out of the box. For biometric security, the device comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. The phone is available in black, blue and white color variants.

As for the pricing, the 4GB RAM-64GB storage version costs around $208, while the 6GB RAM-128GB storage iteration retails for around $238. With only a $30 difference, it would be best to get the more powerful variant for better performance and larger storage.
