Melania Trump and Karen Pence are not close.

CNN correspondent Kate Bennett released a book tilted “Free, Melania: The Unauthorised Biography.” In the publication, Bennett claimed that the first lady and second lady are not close despite showing a united and friendly front in the past months.

Bennett recalled a trip to Corpus Christi, Texas, after Hurricane Harvey. The author remembered “watching someone who looked a lot like Karen Pence, moving from the section ahead of ours, typically where aide and advance teams sit, and head toward the back lavatory.”

Bennett speculated that Melania did not invite Pence in her spacious private cabin at the front of the plane. It was also possible that Pence declined the invitation.

She added that after the flight, Melania did not remove her four-inch heels. She towered comically over Pence who was in flats. She concluded that it was a confirmation that the two ladies were not close because the FLOTUS usually wears a low heel or flats alongside someone who is shorter than her.

In the same book, Bennett claimed that Melania suspected Donald Trump’s longtime ally and adviser Roger Stone of leaking her nude photos from her modeling past. However, White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham denied it.

According to Grisham, they were disappointed with Bennett’s work because their office worked with her in good faith but she presented false details and opinions from anonymous people who don’t know the first lady. The spokesperson said that it was disappointing when journalists write false information to profit off the first family.

Stone’s wife Nydia also sent a message to The Guardian denying the claims. According to her, they have known Melania since she began dating Donald and they adore her. She considered the claim that her husband leaked Melania’s nude photos “categorically false and completely illogical.”

In related news, some Twitter users wondered why Michelle Obama was included in the People of the Year but not Melania. The FLOTUS’ supporters believed that she deserved it more.
