KEY POINTS

  • Melania Trump has been accused of plagiarizing Michelle Obama at least three times
  • The FLOTUS has also been accused of plagiarizing other things
  • Melania Trump seemingly copied an Obama administration booklet

Melania Trump has been accused of plagiarism at least three times since she and President Donald Trump moved to the White House.

Last year, the FLOTUS published a booklet on children’s online safety that had some obvious similarities with a document that was released during the Obama administration.

“Talking With Kids About Being Online” was one of the links that was included in Melania’s Be Best initiative’s page. Twitter user @rudepundit noted how the intro of the FLOTUS’ booklet was an exact replication of Obama’s work.

“Melania plagiarizes again. This time, she took credit for writing a booklet about cyberbullying – it was actually made during the Obama administration. #BeBest?” Twitter user @allanbrocka said.

“She can’t help but plagiarize the Obamas,” Twitter user @bluliner said.

“Oops, I did it again,” Twitter user @susan_twidle said.

Following the backlash, Melania’s Be Best website was updated to describe the booklet as a federal trade commission booklet being promoted by the FLOTUS.

A year later, a similar thing happened with the White House seemingly credited the first lady for introducing and creating Christmas wreaths.

“@FLOTUS’ signature Christmas wreaths with classic red bows on the outside windows of the White House!” they captioned a photo of the Christmas wreaths decorated outside the Oval Office.

Twitter users quickly lambasted the White House and the FLOTUS over the error.

“Are you saying she made them herself? Or designed wreaths to have red bows? Or what? Because this is literally the most common piece of Christmas decor. I’m confused why this is new,” Twitter user @jennyinDC said.

“She did it to Michelle Obama so why not Christmas too?” Twitter user @LoveLincoln1900 said.

Meanwhile, President Trump’s wife has also been accused of plagiarizing Michelle Obama’s speech. When Melania gave her first lady address in 2016, it became evident that an entire paragraph of her speech was lifted from Michelle’s previous statements.

And the FLOTUS was also accused of plagiarizing Michelle’s “be better” response to Oprah Winfrey by giving her initiative the name, Be Best.
