  • CNN reporter Kate Bennett shared that President Donald Trump and Melania Trump are 'independent couple'

President Donald Trump has been involved in numerous issues and controversies since he took the oath of office with Chief Justice John Roberts in January 2017. Critics continue to lambast the POTUS over several things but his devoted supporters give nothing but love and praises to him. Recently, the father of Barron Trump raised some eyebrows again after he, reportedly, does not take Melania Trump’s initiative seriously.

Politico pointed out that President Trump never mentioned about Melania’s “Be Best” campaign in all of his State of the Union Addresses (SOTU). Gabby Corr said that the POTUS is not fond of sharing the spotlight with anybody else. The author even stated that Trump’s “lack of attention” to Melania’s accomplishments, also, raises questions about the relationship between the East Wing and his inner circle.

“A major tool in the White House’s arsenal is the first lady’s popularity and image, and Melania Trump has been severely underutilized by this administration,” Lauren Wright, a lecturer on the presidency and political affairs at Princeton University, said, as cited by Corr in the report. “If anything, they don’t think about the East Wing as a strategically valuable part of the White House, which it has been in past administrations,” she continued.

However, a source close to Melania Trump, reportedly, shared it comes as no surprise that President Donald Trump does not do a shoutout to his wife on his speeches since the FLOTUS does not like getting so much attention. The tipster added that Melania, presumably, wanted the POTUS to focus more on other important things and leave her work out of it.

In December 2019, CNN reporter Kate Bennett revealed that Melania and President Donald Trump have a very unusual type of relationship. In fact, the journalist claimed that the first couple does not share a bed even if they live under one roof.

“This is a couple that's been together for 20 years. I don't think that there is any sort of behind-the-scenes acrimony in their marriage or didn't come of vase-throwing or anything like that,” Kate told CNN’s morning show host Alisyn Camerota during an appearance in “New Day.” “I think that this is an independent couple. They are not joined at the hip, as her office has told me several times. She's independent, she likes her own space, she's a bit of a loner. And I think that the first couple have, in their 20 years together, found a way to make their marriage work and one of those things is not sharing a bedroom,” she went on.

Both Melania Trump and President Donald Trump have yet to comment on Gabby Corr’s report.
