On Thursday, Spotify announced that Michelle Obama will be releasing a new podcast later this month. The new project, "The Michelle Obama Podcast," will be the first title in the ongoing partnership between the streaming service and the production company Higher Ground, which the previous FLOTUS co-founded with her husband, former President Barack Obama.

As stated in a press release, "The Michelle Obama Podcast" will be released on Wednesday, July 29. Hosted by the "Becoming" author herself, the episodes will feature "candid, human, and personal conversations to show us what is possible when we dare to be vulnerable."

The upcoming installments will also feature special guests including Michelle's friends and family members as well as public figures such as Conan O’Brien, Valerie Jarett, Dr. Sharon Malone MD, and Craig Robinson as they discuss women's health, mentorship, and marriage, and more.

In a teaser, Mrs. Obama elaborated on what's to come, saying, "What I love about these conversations is that they're topics and issues that we're all dealing with, no matter what's going on."

Prior to the podcast's debut, she also revealed what she is aspiring to give to those who listen to the upcoming free episodes.

"My hope is that this series can be a place to explore meaningful topics together and sort through so many of the questions we’re all trying to answer in our own lives,” Michelle said in a press release, adding, "Perhaps most of all, I hope this podcast will help listeners open up new conversations—and hard conversations—with the people who matter most to them. That’s how we can build more understanding and empathy for one another."

Aside from the new project, the former first lady has been vocal about other relevant topics over the last few months, including the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. During an interview with talk show host Ellen DeGeneres in March, she revealed how she, Barack, and their daughters, Sasha and Malia Obama, had been dealing with quarantining at home.

"... It's forced us to continue to sit down with each other, have real conversations," she said at the time. "Really ask questions and figure out how to keep ourselves occupied without just TV or computers."

"The Michelle Obama Podcast" will be released on July 29 and can be found on Spotify.
