  • Miley Cyrus celebrated the third anniversary of the song "Malibu"
  • The song was about her reconecting with Liam Hemsworth in 2015
  • CYrus is currenly dating Cody Simpson

Miley Cyrus shared a video of her hit song “Malibu” to celebrate the third anniversary of the song’s release. The celebration is significant because these lyrics about love and romance in the California city were inspired by the real life events of 2015, which involved the singer reconnecting with Liam Hemsworth, who she later divorced in 2019.

“3 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF MALIBU,” Cyrus wrote in the Instagram post she shared online.

The song set a world record after being released on Apple Music and it was the first time the singer used the music sharing platform. Apart from the official visuals of the song, the video also included some of the fans’ reactions.

Malibu is the city where Cyrus and Hemsworth lived together before their divorce, E! News reported. The songs that Cyrus has been releasing have a connection to her life. Shortly after splitting from the Hollywood star, she released the song “Slide Away.”

Cyrus is currently dating Australian singer Cody Simpson. Hemsworth on the other hand has moved on by dating actress Maddison Brown, and the coupe has been spotted together in public on numerous occasions.

The current social distancing measures that most people are following has meant that the stars can’t go out on dates like they used to. Cyrus has been using this time to engage with her fans on social media. She recently released a clip from her song “Mother’s Daughter” to wish her mom a happy Mother’s Day.

In her Instagram post, Cyrus said that her mom always believed that she would make it big someday. Describing her as the “most supportive mother,” the singer expressed her gratitude and love.

Meanwhile, Cyrus has been urging her fans to stay safe by wearing a mask when they go out. In a picture she shared online, the singer pointed out that wearing a mask doesn’t have to be a dull experience, and instead it can be an extension of people showing their individual tastes and personality. She did this by wearing a mask that had a picture of a tongue sticking out.

“Wear a mask for the safety of yourself and others .... but make it fashion!” Cyrus wrote in her Instagram post.
