“Mr. Robot” Season 2, episode 6 featured a bizarre sequence where Elliot (Rami Malek) and his family – his father Edward a.k.a. Mr. Robot (Christian Slater), his mother (Vaishnavi Sharma) and his sister Darlene (Carly Chaikin) – were in a '90s sitcom of sorts. It turned out to be Elliot's weird way of zoning out after getting bashed by Rey's (Craig Robinson) men.

The sequence, while morbid and absurd, appeared to be alluding to Elliot's repressed feelings and memories. One of the most noticeable parts of the sequence was the man in the trunk, which was later revealed to be Tyrell Wellick (Martin Wallstrom). Edward tried to thwart Elliot's many efforts to identify who was in the trunk, which was very similar to how Elliot's conversation with his dead father about the missing businessman went.

Elliot and Edward did not agree on a lot of things when the episode started, but they seemed to have sorted things out by the end. Elliot was taken to an isolated area by Rey's men, and while on the brink of giving up, he and his father's image agreed that they will get through this challenge together.

Now that the two are left by themselves, they are forced to face their dilemmas. Despite being faced by danger, Elliot is bent on knowing Tyrell's whereabouts. The vigilante hacker might just find out in the upcoming episode.

In the trailer for episode 7, titled “eps2.5h4ndshake.sme,” Edward agrees to tell Elliot about what happened the night he and Tyrell executed the hack on E Corp.

“What are you so afraid will happen if you tell me the truth?” Elliot asked Edward. In reply, his father said: “Fine, I will tell you.”

Apart from what Edward will reveal, viewers should also look forward to how Angela (Portia Doubleday) will deal with Dom's (Grace Gummer) prying.

“Mr. Robot” season 2 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on USA.
