When viewers tuned into “My 600-LB Life” Season 8 on Wednesday night, they were reunited with Oklahoma resident Cynthia Wells. At the beginning of her episode, Cynthia weighed around 610 pounds.

According to a Facebook update, it appears Cynthia may still be struggling to lose the weight she needs to receive surgery to remove the excess skin around her neck.

When Cynthia first made her debut on “My 600-LB Life” Season 5, she joined Dr. Nowzaradan’s weight loss program because she realized she wouldn’t live long if she continued with her unhealthy eating habits.

Cynthia admitted that her weight affected her mobility, which meant she struggled to do everyday tasks such as getting out of bed and taking a shower. Although she had problems meeting Dr. Now’s requirements while under his care, she was still able to receive the surgery.

However, she was not happy after she learned she was expected to lose 20 pounds a month after undergoing the procedure.

She eventually quit Dr. Now’s program and vowed to lose weight on her own, which she did. In her update episode, Cynthia was required to get down to 324 pounds to receive skin removal surgery.

However, when she had her follow up appointment at Dr. Now’s office, she weighed 376 pounds. Dr. Now insisted that she needed to attend psychotherapy to help her progress, and she agreed to his terms.

Despite her attempt to follow his orders, her children wanted her back home. As a result, Cynthia left Houston and quit Dr. Now’s program once again.

Although Cynthia often posts photos of her family on Facebook, she tends to keep her body out of the frame. The photos that she does appear in are typically selfies, which makes it difficult to tell whether she has been successful in continuing her weight loss journey.

“My 600-LB Life” Season 8 airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on TLC.
