‘My 600-LB Life’ Season 8 Stars Where Are They Now? John And Lonnie Update

When viewers tuned into “My 600-LB Life” Season 8 on Wednesday night, they met brothers John and Lonnie Hambrick. At the time of their debut on the TLC series, John weighed 686 pounds while Lonnie weighed 612 pounds.

However, according to a recent Facebook update, it appears the brothers have remained committed to living a healthier lifestyle.

During their episode, John and Lonnie revealed they found comfort in food at a young age because it gave them a “happy and safe feeling.”

Lonnie revealed he came out as gay to his parents when he was a teenager. “Our stepdad gave me all kinds of hell because I was always different,” Lonnie said.

“I basically decided to stay in the closet after that. Only my brother knew but, I tried to hide my sexuality so I wouldn’t disappoint my mom,” he explained.

Lonnie began to rely on food to help with his feelings of isolation. “So eating is what got me through that time. It was the only thing I could control in my life, and that made me happy. So I just kept eating and getting bigger,” he revealed.

Lonnie’s confession also put a strain on his relationship with John. “When I found out, I didn’t really agree with it because my mom had raised us to be religious, so because of that, me and Lonnie had started to grow apart. We didn’t have a relationship for a long time,” John said.

Determined to move on from the past, the brothers traveled to Houston to join Dr. Nowzaradan’s weight loss program. The became dedicated to taking back control of their lives and mending their relationship.

Since the episode aired, it appears John has continued his weight loss journey. On Thursday, John posted an update on his Facebook page. The “My 600-LB Life” Season 8 star shared several photos of himself and Lonnie sporting slimmer frames as they attended social gatherings with their loved ones.

Although Lonnie hasn’t updated his Facebook account since 2016, from the looks of John’s page, it appears he remains just as committed as his brother to his weight loss journey.
