The end of “NCIS” Season 13 isn’t just the beginning of summer hiatus. It’s the end of Tony DiNozzo’s time on the team. Actor Michael Weatherly will leave the role Tuesday after 13 years on the CBS drama. Fans should be prepared for the emotional hour, so here’s what you should expect:

Ziva — Though actress Cote de Pablo denied returning to the show, Weatherly said her character does play a part. Viewers will find out if she really died in the farmhouse that went up in flames in the last episode. “I think the audience will feel very strongly that she’s in the episode in a way that might be a little Shakespearean, but it’s real,” Weatherly told Deadline. “And I think it’s going to be a very exciting time for fans of that relationship. I mean, bring a box of whatever you need, bring a change of clothing. You might not be able to go to work the next day.”

Family — A few guest stars will drop by “NCIS” for Tony’s last hurrah, including his father Anthony (Robert Wagner).

Death — It isn’t clear if it’s Ziva, Tony or someone else, but at least one character will die in the “NCIS” Season 13 finale. “Part of him dies,” Weatherly told Extra earlier this month. “I do know that there is death … sudden death.”

Goodbyes – Executive producer Gary Glasberg teased that Tony will have plenty of time to say farewell to each cast member individually. “We’re trying to give each character their due and send Tony DiNozzo off appropriately,” Glasberg told the Hollywood Reporter last month. “People should prepare for some real emotion and a bit of a roller-coaster ride. There’s fun and action, but the last act — the last 15 minutes — are really touching.”

Future Visits — Tony might not be gone forever. Weatherly would be happy to return to the show as a guest star one day. “I believe in the franchise of ‘NCIS’ very much,” Weatherly explained to Deadline. “I would absolutely be open to anything and everything, including things that no one’s even thought of yet. So the long answer is yes.”

Live Tweeting — Expect insight from Weatherly throughout his final episode. The actor revealed to Zap2It that he would live-tweet from a viewing party with his friends during the east coast airing. Find him on Twitter @M_Weatherly.

Michael Weatherly’s last episode of “NCIS” airs Tuesday at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS.
