NCIS CBS
McGee's (Sean Murray) apartment gets robbed in “NCIS” Season 14, episode 17. CBS

CBS series “NCIS” is back to its regular case-of-the-week episodes in Season 14 after Bishop (Emily Wickersham) avenged the death of her fiancé Qasim Naasir (Rafi Silver) in episode 16. The focus moves from Bishop to McGee (Sean Murray) next week.

Per CBS, in Season 14, episode 17, McGee stops a robbery in progress in his own apartment. At first it looks like a regular break-in but soon the NCIS team discovers that there is more to the agent’s apartment than what meets the eye.

In fact, the attempted break-in leads Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and his team to investigate one of the house’s previous tenant -- a homicidal maniac named Paul Triff (French Stewart). He harbors a secret about the gruesome murders that took place in McGee’s house 15 years ago. Yikes.

The synopsis of the upcoming episode (via TVGuide), titled “What Lies Above,” reveals that Triff was looking for an item of great value when he was ransacking McGee’s apartment. No doubt this item is linked to those murders.

The chilling promo of episode 17 shows Gibbs and McGee interrogating the killer who owned the latter’s apartment several years ago. The video reveals that he carved up all his friends in the living room. The team also discovers something under McGee’s bed and it terrifies the agent.

Although Bishop is still reeling from the death of her fiancé, romance will still be alive in “NCIS.” Director Leon Vance (Rocky Carroll) is dating Congresswoman Jenna Flemming (Mary Stuart Masterson). She will try to make ends meet with her personal relationship with Vance. In fact, Flemming tries to persuade her lover to pursue a career in politics.

Will Vance swap his NCIS career for a political one? We’ll have to wait and see.
