NeNe Leakes has just been fired from hosting “The Great Xscape Tour” following a recent controversy.

Last weekend, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star did a hosting gig and joked about wanting to be raped by her Uber driver. The crowd reacted to her remark by booing her, according to People. After the “Glee” actress’ controversial comment, Xscape released a statement announcing that they will no longer be hiring her services.

“Like many, we were dismayed by the recent remarks made by our talented colleague and friend NeNe Leakes. As a result, we have decided to no longer proceed with her participation on our tour. It was an unfortunate incident for which Nene has since apologized and we wish her the best as she navigates this very difficult period,” they said.

Leakes was supposed to host the concert featuring the group, as well as her “RHOA” co-star, Kandi Burruss. Other performers included Monica and Tamar Braxton. The concert was supposed to kick off next month.

After Saturday night’s event at the Paramount Theater, Leakes released a public apology via her Facebook account. “I truly regret and apologize for what I said from the stage in Oakland over the weekend. Sometimes words can cut deep and hurt when you have no intentions of them doing so. As a woman and someone who has survived abuse, I regret the words that I used. I made a mistake and I should have known better. I hope people accept my deepest and sincerest apologies. I am sorry,” she said.

Meanwhile, Leakes also made headlines recently following her feud with Kim Zolciak-Biermann. It all started when Biermann posted a photo of Leakes’ roach-infested floor. Leakes fired back at the reality TV star by calling her a “racist.” She also said that she doesn’t have cockroaches in her home because it’s brand new.

However, Biermann posited that Leakes is just denying the fact that she saw the bug herself. The “Dancing With the Stars” alum added that it was even Leakes who shared the video to them that she just later uploaded on social media. The video has since been deleted.
