Netflix dropped the "Coming Out Colton" series based on Colton Underwood's life as a gay person. In the trailer, the 29-year-old reality TV star admitted that he treated his ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph poorly due to his own insecurities.

The trailer starts with Underwood noting that he "didn't want to be gay." He added that the man voices in his head used to tell him that he appeared on "The Bachelor" show and also played football professionally and wanted to be a "man of faith" but that didn't identify who he really was.

"Never thought I was gonna come out," he added. "I thought I was gonna die with this secret. The reason I'm coming out is because I'm ashamed and I'm sort of mortified of what got me into this position in the first place."

He further reflected on his ex-Randolph and noted, "I put a poor girl through hell of my own insecurities." Underwood and Randolph began dating in 2018 and announced their split in May 2020.

Randolph got a temporary restraining order against Underwood in September 2020 because he was allegedly stalking her. However, the restraining order was taken back within two months.

The trailer also features how Underwood dealt with the breakup and discussion between him and his father regarding the restraining order. "Cassie filed a restraining order against you. You went off the rails," Underwood's father told him in the trailer.

"I was starting to hurt other people outside of just myself," Underwood told his mother.

In the next scene, he is seen having a meeting with a churchwarden where he gets the suggestion, "You want to sit down and apologize to make yourself feel better. The best thing you can do is face up to what you’ve done and find out who the hell you are."

In the trailer, one of Underwood's friends told him, "What you put her through was bulls–t," referring to his 26-year-old ex-girlfriend. The series is going to follow both, before and after, of Underwood appearing on "The Bachelor."

Underwood came out in April.

"Coming Out Colton" is slated to premiere on the streaming platform this Friday.
