Netflix has dropped more information about the Taylor Swift documentary “Miss Americana” that’s due to hit its streaming service. The film, after it’s release during the Sundance Film Festival later this month, will have a global release just shortly after.

“Miss Americana” will debut at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on Jan. 23, before hitting Netflix on Jan. 31, just one week later, according to Vulture. The release date for this film was previously, and controversially, up in the air after news broke out about Swift’s feud with producer Scooter Braun over music rights.

The January release date for “Miss Americana” is an official date, even if things are not completely settled between Swift and Braun. While not much is known in terms of new information on their feud, the release means it’s likely the two landed on an agreement with the film’s distribution.

Part of the disagreement came from Swift wanting to use some of her older songs in the documentary, something she alleged Braun and Scott Borchetta were not allowing her to do.

Lana Wilson, who previously directed “The Departure,” the story of a Japenese rocker who becomes a monk and begins working to prevent suicides, directed the film about Swift.

MTV reports that “Miss Americana” will explore Swift’s career as “one of the most iconic artists of our time.” This comes at a very “transformational” time in her life where she is forced to recognize and “embrace her role not only as a songwriter and performer but as a woman harnessing the full power of her voice.”
