Supreme has become known over the years for unexpected drops and collaborations. Now, a new one is on the horizon thanks to the upcoming collection, which will feature artwork from the late Daniel Johnston. What will be included and when can Supreme fans buy the new pieces?

Earlier this week, the clothing brand shared a preview of what's to come in the new Supreme x Daniel Johnston on their Instagram, including a hoodie that features an assortment of sketches and the company's name. In a caption on the photo, the brand elaborated a bit more on what can be expected from the new release.

"The collection consists of an Embroidered Work Jacket, Plaid Shirt, Rayon Shirt, Embroidered Work Pant, Hooded Sweatshirt, three T-Shirts and Beanie," states the caption, which can be seen in the post below.

The James Jebbia-created company also shared an additional image that showcased a plaid shirt with Johnston's art on it as well, as seen below. According to Hypebeast, the particular frog drawing is called Jeremiah the Innocent and was also used on the musician's 1983 album "Hi How Are You." Over the years, his style had earned him a variety of fans, including former Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

The publication then added that the new Supreme merch will pay homage to the late musician in other ways as well, including using images from "his comic book 'Space Ducks – An Infinite Comic Book of Musical Greatness' and his illustration 'The Silver Sufferer'." These will make appearances on the other aforementioned products in the upcoming drop. It remains to be seen if the brand's iconic box logo will make an appearance and how it may be integrated with Johnston's art.

Aside from the upcoming release, Supreme has surprised fans in other ways throughout the year as well. Previously, the skate company teamed up with Japanese artist Takashi Murakami on a shirt to benefit a COVID-19 relief fund. Additionally, they also collaborated with S&M Bikes on a 1995 BMX Dirtbike.

As for when fans can cop the new Daniel Johnston pieces, the collection will go live on Thursday for those in the U.S. and Saturday for anyone in Japan. It's unclear what time the online-only collab will become available on their website, but in the past Supreme has released new merch at 11 a.m. At this time, shipping fees will be waived on orders over $150 due to Supreme stores in the U.S., U.K., and Japan being temporarily closed in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
