Nick Cannon showed off his new tattoo Sunday following his split from estranged wife Mariah Carey. The “America’s Got Talent” host used to have her moniker across his back, but in a picture posted on TMZ, “Mariah” has been covered up by a crucifixion.

While it’s obvious that Cannon is trying to get rid of the singer’s name, what’s not clear is the top of his tattoo. The news site described the tattoo as “perplexing” after he stepped out to go to the gym in Studio City. There are several different things that could be above Jesus’ head in the tattoo. It’s an angel, a bird, a cherub ... or possibly something else.

He has not directly commented on the new body art, but posted a quote to Twitter Sunday via Instagram. “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten.” He captioned the image “Do. Done. Gotten.”

It was first revealed Cannon covered up his “Mariah” tattoo Friday, but a clear picture of his new body art was not captured after he showed it off at Playhouse in Hollywood Thursday night to celebrate his birthday.

Cannon and Carey got tattoos in honor of each other in 2008. "We got tattoos!" Carey told People at the time. "His is on one shoulder to the other and it says 'Mariah.'" And hers? "It's on my lower back and it says 'Mrs. Cannon,'" she said.

Since he revealed there were problems with Carey, Cannon has remained relatively quiet about their split. "There is trouble in paradise," Cannon, 33, told The Insider of his marriage to Carey, 44 in August. "We have been living in separate houses for a few months."

The celebrity couple reportedly started to have problems in June. "It has been shaky for a while, but it all came to a head recently," a source told Us Weekly.

It was recently revealed Cannon might have cheated on Carey after she allegedly changed some choice lyrics to: “I know you cheated, mother******” while performing on “The Elusive Chanteuse Show” tour in Japan.
