NBC’s long-running sitcom “The Office” ended in 2013, but after a few years off the air, it’s looking to make a return to the Peacock network.

The series lasted nine seasons, had over 200 episodes and featured stars like Steve Carell, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, Rainn Wilson, B.J. Novak and more, so it’s no wonder NBC reportedly wants to revive it for the 2018-2019 installment. Especially after the success of the recent revival of the network’s other much-loved comedy, “Will & Grace.”

Before fans get too excited about seeing their favorite characters return in new episodes of their favorite show, it’s time to point out that Carell will not be returning to reprise his role as Michael Scott, according to TV Line. Carell left the series after Season 7 and won’t be involved in any new seasons on its way. NBC has also yet to confirm the revival.

That said, the continuation of the series reportedly plans to bring back other fan-favorite characters, as well as bring in new ones, including a new regional manager for Dundler Miffin’s Scranton, Pennsylvania, branch. TV Line reports that a search is already ongoing for this role.

While it’s unclear yet which original cast members would be returning, many of the stars have spoken out in the past about their desire to return should the show be revived.

“I would love it,” Angela Kinsey, who played accountant Angela Martin, told Us Weekly. “Everybody is doing so many things, but sign me up!”

Wilson also said he’d be up for doing “a reunion episode or kind of like... continue on with a couple little movies here or a little limited series there” when speaking with CinemaBlend.

As for Craig Robinson, he told International Business Times in January that “anything to do with ‘The Office,’” he’d revisit.

The rest of the cast feels pretty much the same way, which is why it shouldn’t be too hard for NBC to get quite a few members of the original cast back on board.

Mindy Kaling just wrapped “The Mindy Project” and while she’s working on her new series creation “Champions,” surely she has time to reprise her role of Kelly on the comedy.

“I loved working on the show and I was there for eight years,” Kaling said on The Talk. “I think that if Greg Daniels, who did the American version of the show, he’s such a genius. And if he were to be in charge of it, I can’t imagine that I wouldn’t want to help out in some way, or write, and I feel like probably the rest of the cast feels the same.”

As this revival news is still fresh, not much is known yet about the specifics, but the outlook looks good for the inclusion of many of the original actors.
