It’s a sad day for One Direction fans in the United States. On Saturday, Sept. 12, the boy band concluded their U.S. Tour at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. The concert marked the final “On The Road Again” show stateside, however the group still has a couple of performances overseas.

A majority of the band members -- Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson – took to Twitter following the show to thank fans for their support.

Following the exit of member Zayn Malik in March, One Directionn announced that they would be taking a temporary break in March 2016. The break will come after the release of their highly anticipated fifth album, which they will be promoting until February 2016.

Despite rumors that they are splitting up permanently, the band has been adamant that the break is temporary to allow them to pursue individual endeavors. Horan cleared up the speculation for his Twitter followers in August.

“Ok so lots of rumours going round,” he wrote. “We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year. Don’t worry though, we still have lots we want to achieve!”

Tomlinson also tweeted at the time, reassuring fans that “it’s just a break” and that “we’re not going anywhere.” Fans at their final show Saturday night claim that Tomlinson also promised that One Direction would be back following their hiatus.

The band currently has over 20 shows scheduled in Europe. You can click HERE to check out the remaining tour dates.
