Oprah Winfrey's soul aches for the country following the harrowing Las Vegas mass shooting that took the lives of 59 people and injured hundreds.

On Tuesday, Oprah sat down with Entertainment Tonight to talk about her latest business venture O, That's Good! foods. However, their conversation turned to the controversial Las Vegas shooting, and Winfrey feels devastated over the events that transpired on Sunday, Oct. 1.

"And I have to tell you, I feel the same way the whole country feels," Winfrey told ET. "I feel like my soul is aching for the country."

Winfrey used to cover tragedies on her popular talk show, "The Oprah Winfrey Show," so she took the interview as an opportunity to share a message to those who are still struggling to recover from the mass shooting.

"There's not a day that goes by where I'm not putting on my shoes, or brushing my teeth, where I just think about the ordinariness of, people who just went to a concert, or the ordinariness of the day from people from 9/11, who were just doing an ordinary thing, and then you never get home," she said. "So, I would say that these days of crisis and tragedy are to remind us all to be present in the ordinariness of our lives that actually turns out to be extraordinary, when the person you love doesn't come home at night."

The media mogul stressed that the incident is a reminder for everyone to be more "awakened about our own life." She added that when the worst things happen, it is an opportunity for everyone to show their best. Humanity is visible in tragedies because it unites the community.

Meanwhile, Winfrey recently stirred rumors that she will be running for president in the future when she thanked Democrats for their confidence in her in a tweet. The "60 Minutes" special contributor has been encouraged by most of her followers to join the presidential race in 2020. And while she has not yet announced her intention to run, she is not closing her doors either on the possibility.

"If you need to set a thief to catch a thief, you need a star — a grand, outsized, fearless star whom Trump can neither intimidate nor outshine — to catch a star. We’re through the looking glass here. America is discarding old approaches in politics. Democrats will have to do the same to match the mood to the moment," the article read. "And that’s where Oprah Winfrey comes in. She is the mirror image of Trump, but more so."
