After a yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer, Patrick Swayze is pushing ahead to start a new TV series.

Swayze describes his battle with cancer as a through hell experience.

The 56 year old actor confessed to having fear (especially after learning it spread to his liver) and anger and asking why he should face this.

Swayze's new A&E police drama, The Beast, which premieres next week, meant grueling 12-hour workdays, with chemotherapy sessions on the weekends. He rejected painkilling drugs that would have taken the edge off his performance. In five months, he missed just a day and a half at work.

After diagnosis less that 5% of patients live longer than 5 years.
